About the event

Join us for our first Bioblitz event!

We want UCL staff and students to get outside and observe organisms around our campus so that we can map and grow the edible potential of our environment.

At our first bioblitz event, we want you to help us record the plants and organisms around Main Campus, Malet Place, UCL Anthropology and Medawar Garden. We will meet in the Staff Common Room on the ground floor of the Anthropology Department and make our way from there to various sites across campus to see how much we can spot in the time.

NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. Spread the word, come along, dress for the weather, ideally bring a phone or camera and let's get observing!

We have teamed up with the iNaturalistUK's Citizen Science project which allows anyone to record encounters with organisms, connect with experts who can identify organisms and build knowledge about the natural world.

We have created our own Edible College London project and now need your help recording the organisms found on our campus here. Anyone can do this at any time - just sign up to iNaturalist, become a member of the Edible College London project, get observing and tag your observations to our map!

Everyone welcome!
